in “Via di Città” in the historical “Drogheria Manganelli” taste the “ricciarelli”, the best almond biscuits of the town and buy a “Panforte” for afterdinner.
As all the people of Siena take a break with the “ciaccino” ( pizza with ham and mozzarella ) at “Pizzeria Poppi” in “Via Banchi di Sotto”, you will not be disappointed!
In winter a good cup of tea and a slice of cake at “Tea Room” in “Piazza del Mercato” open also after dinner but you have to book in advance.
Under the “ Fortezza Medicea” at “Caffè Pasticceria Corsini” taste their homemade bakery and the mignon pastries, wonderful.
The best coffee at “Gastronomia Morbidi” in “Via del Corso” and if you go there early in the morning taste their French croissant with ham and cheese.
If you want to take a morning walk arrive at “Porta Romana” go straight on, after the door, and arrive at “Pasticceria Peccati di Gola” take a cappuccino and bombolone ( fried with cream inside ) and start the day at your best! ( to taste also the sfoglia with cream and orange, très magnifique! ).
